Due to the changes in the editing software moving from Avid to Adobe Premier we had a lesson on how to adjust to the new software, however most of the settings and features were similar to Avid.
These were the main instuctions given in order to open a project:
- Open Adobe Premier Pro
- Then click on to new project
- Computer
- Ensure everything is saved on Lacie
- DV PAL- widescreen 48 hl
Once these instructions were followed the main editing page was opened were then were presented:
-in the top left was the bin
-right top box,-watching rushes
-bottom left box, effects
-bottom right box, timeline
General features:
-file> capture too/F5
-Mark in and out (last two icons)
-remove marks- bottom last two icons
-shuttle- rewinds/fast foward
-red button-record button/G
-when you want to crop shot- use red line to cut out
-razor tool- cuts shots
-you can copy and paste shots
-drag on effects to source window and it allows you to control how long you want the effect to last
